Mandatory discussion boards in which you answer questions about how to apply that week's learning to two case examples.Recorded demos of the interventions being delivered for you to watch.You don't have to log on to the course at any particular time, but the course is broken into 12 separate weeks so you are required to log on and complete the work each week. At the beginning of the course you'll be introduced to the learning objectives and then watch a video called Learning in Context that explains how the learning fits into practice and why it's needed. The online CBT courses are completely asynchronous. These peer supervision sessions are mandatory. *CBT for Trauma also includes three monthly one-hour peer supervision sessions after the course ends. Level I will introduce you to the full set of core cognitive behaviour interventions to treat a broad array of presenting problems and disorders. Both levels must be completed to receive the CBT certificate. Given the limited number of published literature available in this area, further studies are needed to conclude when and for whom trauma-focused interventions are most relevant.The CBT certificate is comprised of two levels. Conclusionsįindings of outcome data indicated that TF-CBT was effective in treating trauma-related symptoms and improving psychosocial functioning in children and adolescents in LMICs. Additionally, measures were translated and validated for local use. It was also found that cultural considerations were taken into account in TF-CBT delivery to meet the needs of local populations. Results showed that the majority of the studies identified were conducted in low-resource community settings in East or Central Africa ( n = 8). A total of 143 articles were identified, of which 11 articles, representing 1,354 participants, met the proposed inclusion criteria. The present systematic review assesses the current evidence base of TF-CBT for children and youth in LMIC, with a focus on conflict-affected countries. More recently, TF-CBT has emerged in the literature as an area of interest for children and youth affected by conflict and war in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) has been identified as a gold standard treatment for childhood posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in Western countries.
